The Melting Zone of Greenland


National Geographic main issue of June is about Greenland – the largest island of the earth covered with ice. The largest city in Greenland, Nuuk, there lived 15 thousand people. One of the articles of the journal devoted to the melting of the glaciers of the island. Photographer James Balog, whose illustrations are gathered in this record, organized in 2006 a study of ice in Greenland and other glaciers, the largest planet.
