Three nabbed for poaching bullfrogs

MARGAO: As part of their annual drive against frog hunting in the state, the South Goa forest department's mobile squad, late Wednesday night, arrested three youth for hunting frogs and recovered 11 live bullfrogs from them.

The team led by Range Forest Officer (RFO) Siddesh Gaudenabbed three boys Menino Pereira, 29, of Nuvem, Denzil Soares, 25, and Dylan Noronha, 18, both from Gogol-Margao while they were hunting for frogs in the paddy fields near the Arlem-Raia Eastern Bypass. A panchanama was conducted and the three were later released after they submitted a bond of Rs 10,000 each, Gaude told TOI.
